Something Strange Happened Around the Table This Week
During the week of July 22nd, something came up in session at MOA Living:
Several men—completely unrelated to each other—said the same thing:
“I barely slept Monday night.”
“I felt tired but couldn’t fall into deep sleep.”
“It was like my body wouldn’t shut off.”
Even more interesting? The women we spoke to mostly said they slept just fine, or even better than usual.
That got me curious. What happened the night of Monday, July 21st, into Tuesday, July 22nd, that made so many men restless, while women slept well?
Here’s what we found.
No, It Wasn’t a Full Moon
First thing we checked was whether there was a full moon.
Turns out, there wasn’t. The full moon had already passed (back on July 10th), and on the 21st, the moon was almost gone from view—what’s called a waning crescent.
Still, the moon affects us in more ways than just how it looks. Tides, hormones, and even sleep cycles can be subtly influenced, especially for people who are more sensitive to energy shifts.
So even without a full moon, there still might’ve been something in the air.
Space Weather? Yes, That’s Real.
Believe it or not, energy from the sun can affect our bodies.
On the night of July 21st, there was a slight solar flare—a little burst of energy from the sun—that created a ripple in Earth’s atmosphere. Scientists call it geomagnetic activity.
It’s not dangerous, but it’s known to:
Disrupt sleep patterns
Make some people feel wired or anxious
Mess with our body’s natural rhythm
And for some reason, it seems men’s nervous systems reacted more to it than women’s that night.
Weather in Toronto Was Shifting Too
Here on Earth, the weather plays a big role in how our bodies feel—especially at night.
That Monday, Toronto was seeing:
Rising humidity
Warmer nights
Pressure changes in the air
All of these can affect how our bodies cool down, how easily we fall asleep, and how well we stay asleep.
So if you felt like you were “buzzing” or “restless” even though you were tired, it might’ve been the air pressure and heat messing with your system.
So Why Did Women Sleep Better?
Honestly, we’re not totally sure—but here are a few possibilities:
Women might’ve been more in sync with the calm energy of that moon phase
Some had already processed their stress earlier in the day
Or maybe their hormones offered more protection from the shifts
Everyone’s body reacts differently. It’s not that one group is stronger—it’s that we’re wired differently.
What This Means for You
At MOA Living, we believe in paying attention to patterns.
If multiple people report the same issue on the same night, we don’t ignore it—we ask why.
Whether it was a solar flare, shifting weather, the moon, or just Monday stress, we take it as valuable information. Because your nervous system is always responding to the world around you, even if you’re not fully aware of it.
What You Can Do Next Time You Can’t Sleep
If this kind of thing happens again, here are a few things to try:
Cool the room down – your body needs to drop in temperature to sleep well
Gentle stretching or light walking – helps calm the body
Magnesium before bed – supports muscle and nervous system relaxation
Write things down – get the thoughts out of your head so your brain can relax
Breathwork or hypnotherapy tracks – ask us, we’ll send you one
And most importantly—don’t beat yourself up if your sleep was off. It doesn’t always mean something is wrong. Sometimes, it’s your body reacting to something bigger than you.
Final Thought
We may never fully understand why the men in our clinic couldn’t sleep on July 21st—but we’re not ignoring it either.
Your body gives you feedback every day. Sleep is one of the most important indicators of your health and nervous system balance.
So next time your sleep is off, let us know.
We’re here to help you make sense of the patterns—and keep it balanced.
